In accordance to the myth, Rome gets its name from the two twins who fought for the area way back in 753 B.C.E. -Romulus and Remus. Romulus reigned as the first king of Rome and played a huge role in catapulting the city to fame. Since then, for many thousands of years to come, Rome was regarded as one of the most prominent and powerful cities in the world.
