Spanish Steps
0.0/5 rating (0 votes)
A beautiful setting retained from the baroque period. It gets its name,Spanish steps from the Spanish embassy building which stands nearby. Built in the early 18th century, stunning pots overflowing with flowering azaleas is a feast to the eyes during the spring season (spring flower festival). The Christmas nativity is another event worth attending if you are on a city break in the Christmas season. The steps connect the Piazza Trinita dei Monti at the top and the fabled Piazza di Spagna at the bottom. Perched high on the steps is the effigy, two-towered Trinita dei Monti church.
