MET

If you are on the look out for a fshionable or trendy restaurants in Rome MET is the best. The restaurant is located at Ponte Milvio. MET is a hotspot for trendsetters. With the minimalist design philosophy in mind, MET alternates three colors such as white, black and dark tones of brown tables to add to the decor. Wide range of choices are offered to meet the different tastes of the trendy clientele. It is also a meeting for lovers.
The restaurant is open daily, except monday from 7:00 pm to 1:00 am.

Maccheroni

 

It is one of  the most popular Italian dish restaurant in the ancient neighbourhood of Piazza delle Coppelle. The name of the restaurant was originated from one of the best trattorians in Italy. The Maccheroni maintains a warm and rustic atmosphere to its visitors. You will be offered a traditional and a homemade cuisine here. Also the Maccheroni offers you some of the regional specialties, as well as house wine and Chianti. It's ideal location will make it easy for you to explore the famous Piazza Navona and the Pantheon. The restaurant is open daily.

Lunch: 1.00 pm - 3:00 pm
Dinner: 7.30 pm - 12.00 am

Roscioli

Roscioli is considered by locals as the best wine bar in Rome. Owing to the Roman tradition, you will be served fresh bread and specialty wine each day. It is located in one of the most beautiful areas of Rome, but not far from the noises and vibrants of Via Arenula. The restaurant functions on all week days except on sunday. It is open from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm and 8:15 pm to 12:00 am.

SOMO

Located off the beaten track in Rome, SOMO is a Japanese/fusion restaurant. If you want to be away from all the crowd and would like to have a peaceful atmosphere, then SOMO will be a great choice. The restaurant serves non-Italian dishes. The special lighting and the Japanese interior designs will give the visitors a feel of a historic place. Open everyday except Monday, the restaurant provides evening meals between 7.30 pm and 12.30 am.

Galeteria Della Palma

It is a favourite spot for most of the tourists who flcok to the capital. Galeteria is a mimic of the 1950's American Soda Shop's interior. But keeping up the Italian flair, this cafe has the most colorful selection of gelato with many cream and fruit flavors. There are 20 different types of chocolates alone. It also serves coffee and pralines. There are open-air tables like the other Roman Galeto parlors, so that you can sit down and enjoy a real "pausa".

Tre Scalini

Usually sitting at an outdoor table in a cafe on the square is costly. But you can't leave Rome without visiting Tre Scalini on Piazza Navona. Here you will find the famous Tartufo dessert, a rich handmade chocolate ice cream roll. It's worth the splurge if you take your time eating and enjoy taking in the scene. So just think of it as the price for some great outdoor entertainment.

Trattoria Checchino dal 1887

Checchino dal 1887 serves excellent traditional Roman food in a beautiful dining room in the Testaccio District of Rome. The restaurant serves you all dishes such as Rigatoni with pagliata, bucatini alla gricia, lamb alla cacciatore, accompanied by great wines from the very-well stocked cellar.

Risotrante Cecilia Metella

This is a good restaurant on the old Appian Way. The two large air conditioned rooms are furnished in an elegant style, particularly suitable for banquets and receptions. You will have the  choice of national wines proposed in combination with the traditional dishes that include a touch of creativity that empathizes the flavours of the meals.Dine on the patio in good weather for nice views. During the summer you can admire from the garden the beauty of the most beautiful street in Rome.

Trimani

If you are looking for a place specially to have wine, then this is the place for that. Gourmet specialties sold and served here but above all, you will get wines from all over Italy and the world.

La Montecarlo


If you are a lover of Pizza, La Montecarlo is the best place that offer you great pizzas. You can also enjoy home-made Roman desserts and cheap but tasty wine in a fun, noisy atmosphere. The place is a favourite spot for young locals as well as tourists. The pizza hut is just around the corner on Via del Governo Vecchio.

Jaya Sai Ma

Located near the Porta Portese market, Jaya Sai Ma is a famous vegetarian restaurant in Rome. May be most prefer of non-vegetarian food, here is no fuss or frills. The food is biological and organic. They also serve vegan specialties.

Antico Arco

Minimalist but with warm atmosphere, Antico Arco presnts its visitors a  smart new interiors. Tables are spread over two upstairs and two downstairs rooms, and there's now also a wine-bar lobby where you can imbibe while waiting to be seated. From the antipasti,the menu include an outstanding Tropea onion and taleggio cheese flan, to the primi, where Antico Arco classics like the risotto with castelmagno cheese are flanked by new entries such as tonnarelli with bottarga (grey mullet roe), artichokes and coriander. The desserts are no let-down. The wine list is extensive, and sensibly priced.

Caffe Canova-Tadolini

The sculptor Antonio Canova's workshop is now refurbished as a museum-atelier. Turned as a cafe, its tables are among its sculpture models that give it a refined and elegant old-world feel. The dark hardwood floors, wood-beamed ceilings, chandeliers and mustard-yellow leather banquettes and chairs, add to the old world charm. Lunch is served, and the small bar offers cocktails and assorted drinks, as well as tasty titbits, from canapes to cookies and pastries.

Freni e Frizioni


Freni e Frizini is one of the most hippest spot in Rome during the early evening hours.The artists types, the creatives, and the student crowd are the frequent visitors of this place.  A grand buffet is laid out on a snowy white tablecloth decorated with armfuls of long-stemmed roses and candles. There are baskets of focaccia, ceramic bowls of couscous and pasta, guacamole and raw vegetables. Try your hand in all these while you sip a cocktail, a beer, or a glass of well-priced wine. All the while you can enjoy chit-chatter with great views of the riverside square.
Open 10am-2am daily.

Societe Lutece

Societe Lutece is a not so easy to find gem in Rome. This place has began to captivate the eclectic Roman hipsters who formerly frequented places like the Vineria in campo de' Fiori. The cramped quarters cause a spillover into the small piazza. Still, the aperitivo buffet (6.30-10.30pm - unless the food runs out earlier) is plentiful. The employees are very friendly. But the vibe here is decidedly laid back.
