A truly old and ancient district. The reason why people like the place, is mainly because it still manages to retain much of its ancient charm. You can spot cobbled streets here against the backdrop of charming churches. Take a careful look and the labyrinthine alleys will surprise you with a few hidden gems, all of which speak of a bygone past. Allow yourself to get lost and enjoy a stroll through the district which will for sure take you to restaurants and cafes where you can grab a lunch or sip a hot coffee. There is a street market here which gets real exciting on Sundays.

It is said that the streets you find to the east of the piazza is a place where you can spot the most photographed washing around the globe.

A beautiful setting retained from the baroque period. It gets its name,Spanish steps from the Spanish embassy building which stands nearby. Built in the early 18th century, stunning pots overflowing with flowering azaleas is a feast to the eyes during the spring season (spring flower festival). The Christmas nativity is another event worth attending if you are on a city break in the Christmas season. The steps connect the Piazza Trinita dei Monti at the top and the fabled Piazza di Spagna at the bottom. Perched high on the steps is the effigy, two-towered Trinita dei Monti church.
The Piazza Navona is the site of four beautiful fountains, each majestic in their own way. Designed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini way back in the 17th century, the "Fountain of Four Rivers" takes name as one among the most famous fountains in Rome. It is one of the most magnificant squares in the City. What's better is that it does not limit you from viewing it from a far-off distance, in fact you can sit on the very edges of the fountain.
